Do you think this could be fixed? It`s at a salvage pool here in town, don`t know much more than that.

When you check out what a lot of guys on this board have done with sections of 4 or 5 bodies and real rust buckets, this has got to be an easy fix for someone with a moderate amount of talent. By the way, it looks like maybe the "Jaws of Life" were used on the passenger side front.

  4. Everything is fixable! Those photos you have posted sure would make great BEFORE pictures. That is if somebody has enough desire to fix the car back up to its former glory.

  5. I'd say get it as cheap as you can, especially if it comes with a title. maybe if you know someone there you can get some inside info on it??

  6. I'd say that if someone bought that as a finished rod they should sue

look at the goober welds under the bondo on the B-Pillar. I think the A-pillars snaped in the roll over, that is one hell of a dropped axle.

is it going up for auction??

  8. Running gear and suspension, probably...

The body looks wasted--looks like a rough chop under a ton of plastic. Looks like some good interior parts. If the frame isn't twisted up might be worth getting it if its titled.

    Just my .02

  9. Or maybe just a shit weld wrapped in plastic that popped after impact or when they yanked the door open.

that is the first thing i noticed.

you would be better off with a raw rusted body then unfuck what lurks under the shinny paint

  11. It looks a bit like a hack weld job to me, The jaws of live usually cut it like a big assed pair of tin snips. But if its cheap it is worth getting for parts at the least.

If that was a finished rod as mentioned above, they certainly should sue if they are still alive to do so. I am pretty sure those welds dindt hold for shit. look how everything is sheared right off at the chops and welds. Maybe it's jsut my eyes though. I'd still try to get her for parts anyway.

Slag, I wonder WTF is under all that shiny paint as well. It sure looks like a hell of a lot of filler. I don't think its old layers of paint :) Let us know what happens with this thing,,

yea man, theres some weird shit lurkin on that rod. and whats up with no penetration welds in a piller? Looks like a rookie chop, didnt even grind the shitty welds and plastered body filler on the posts. Who here uses that much filler on a post weld for a chop????

I`m a member at the salvage pool where its at. It`s up for grabs In November, but you can go and check it out before you bid. Yea, I gotta go see this thing and check it out.

  14. Use some industrial paint stripper to get the shiny off. It then would resemble a finished rat rod, and everyone would just love it, just as it is.

  15. Hell yeah, that'll buff out no sweat. Badassed ride on the cheap- :D:D:D

I think it would cost less in the long run if someone started from scratch with another body. Model A tudors can still be found for decent money. Fixing the damage is bad enough, but fixing the shotty workmanship could be a nightmare.

Buy it for the title, cut the dash, firewall, and cowl off, and sell the rest for scrap prices. I'd bid about $250...

That steering wheel will bring $2 at any NSRA car show

The average"trying not to warp" tack mig welds are always going to rip like paper under stress like that. 90% of chopped tops are just as weak at the seams. Looks cool though don't it?

The grill shell would be kool to hang in the garage or the whole thing would be kool as yard art & a conversation piece....

Maybe some of the stuff mentioned could have contributed to the accident at some point so maybe the driveline & etc is best where it is...hell, it could be 'cursed'!!
    Let it Rot In Pieces..

Damn shame & hope the driver made it!

Looks like a hunk of crap to me. My 15 yr old son could weld better than that and he can' weld. It also looks like it had plastic fenders on it. I would like to see how bad the frame has been hacked on. If the body is any indication I'm suprised it didn't break in half on the roll over.

If you look closely you can also see all the marks from where other guys have been touching it with a ten foot pole. Junk. Hope the driver made it out alive.

If you could get it cheap enough, yes. It's not going to be worth much more than a title though, as you won't know what's salvageable untill after you tear it apart.

Everybody sure it's a rollover? It looks like someone thought it was on fire and put it out with a locomotive.

  29. I hope those in the car are ok. I see this as a lesson learned. When you build, fab it up strong enough to take a crash.

I'd say it isn't even worth the time, money or effort to get it back into shape. First, its boned almost beyond repair, at least on the edge. Second, it looks like whoever built it had no idea what they were doing with a welder and just tacked the pillars on. That leads me to believe that they might have done the same on other parts of the car, so not only would you have to fix what was done in the crash, you'd have to fix up the shitty job that was already done to it. I wouldn't go for it, the bodies are fairly available anyway if you really want one.
