On our way to my wifes sisters place in CT for Thanksgiving, we were invited to a couple of days at Lance and Dianes home for a visit. Lance and I spent a day in the go-rage, (The Garage-Ma-Hall,) with his buddy Charlie, working on some little projects. Charlie and Lance focused on the 29 pickup, I helped with some time at the new bead blaster getting lots of little parts ready for finishing. I did get an opportunity while wandering around this huge by large place, to take some pictures of Lances various project cars, and some of his amazing work/storage space. Im going to post some of the shots, including a set of Jersey Suede pics Lance had just shot. He had taken the cover off of the 34, or, The Coupe, (as he calls it,) and rolled it out of the line of his kids, (as he calls all of the cars collectively.) Several pictures later, he rolled it back into its semi conscious storage state, and covered it up again. These are current pictures, although the car isnt running, and hasnt run in several years. The tired Olds motor needs an overhaul, he wants to change out the transmission, and he is mulling over other upgrades, not the least of which is losing the original four bars in favor of hair pin radius rods. There is also an ongoing discussion with Di about the dashboard color, which he thinks is fine and she wants to tone down, some. The interior shots show the pink, which is being debated, as well as a view looking out. I voted for the pink to stay. Also, I can relate to Dianes comment about seeing the lower half of the Rockies, on their trip West, years ago. From inside, this thing is border line insane, which of course, is what makes it so cool! Every time I talk to Lance, he says he really wants to get the Suede redone for next year. I, for one, support him wholeheartedly! I even offered to have him send it down to NC for the winter so I could work on getting it back to driving condition. Dont you think that was good of me?? Anyway, these are the first of the pictures from Lances stash that I will be posting over the next few days. Ill start with these.
43Gman: If you're even partly responsible for getting Lance going on this project, you're a national hero! A grateful nation salutes you, sir.
Geeez that is a clean 34! The interior not so much from what i can grasp but from the outside is a stunner! More!
Thanks for posting these. I've been wondering what ever happened to that car. One of my all time favorites.
