Lances garage/storage is huge. I dont know much about square footage, but from a square envy formula, this thing has it. I wanted to try to get the flavor of the cars, parts, and general vibe. As you well know, this guy and his girl are both artists, and everything about there home reflects the zany antics of both. Creative beyond my imagination, and just about coo-coo enough to pull it all off. If you dispute this, take a look at the neon sign that Di had made for Lance for a bday present a few years ago! They both like digging around in those places that sell old building parts that have been salvaged from demolition. Their house is rife with gadgets and gee gaws from the last couple of centuries, mixed in so tastefully with their own artwork and some very modern appointments. But, I digress. One of their sojourns to an old structures auction netted a complete window from a bank, (?) or a Post Office, (?) Sorry. Lance even told me, but I cannot recall, and didnt take any notes. Senior moments come more often, these days. One picture is looking from the shop in towards what he will eventually call his office, while the other is from the inside of that room looking into the work area. Note the P/U looks as if it is locked up for the day. In the area where all of their kids are is a literal pile of engines, not the fewest of which are flatheads in various stages of repair. I also spied a 283 SBC in the grouping, and another GM 4 cylinder. All apparently awaiting use. Another really interesting piece is the front part of a (real steel, of course,) 33 Willys coupe. He actually has two cowl sections, one upstairs in the inner sanctum. The plan is for a pickup, and when Lance gets into describing the thing, his normal cheerful enthusiasm boils over into a kind of exuberance! All around the storage area the walls are decorated with random old Ford parts, some of which you look at and think, Geeze, I havent seen one of those things for . . . Lance has been picking up stuff from swap meets for decades, bringing it home, using some of it on his cars, and tacking the rest up onto his walls for future projects. These pictures are a small sample of the walls downstairs. The real mind blower is what I call the "inner sanctum," which is in the second story. Yeah, a two story garage, right? I'll be posting some of the upstairs pics in another thread. I coulda spent all day looking at his junk, but I had promised to actually do some work, and the bead blaster was calling!
