I always have a tough time finding something for mt brother-in-law for Christmas. he likes strange and unusual things. well this year i got an idea from a pic i saw of a hood ornament made out of codder pins and other bits to look like a skeleton. Here is what i came up with. Took about 5 or 6 hours to make. It's just scrap stuff i found lying around TIG welded together, My wife made the book. It came out pretty nice if i say so myself. It was hard giving it up, I wanted to keep it! My wife thinks i should start making them to sell. If time permits i may but for now this is the only one.
Ah ah ah ah.....This is tooo damn kool bro! I would have totally loved reciving this thing...it amazes me how patient you are. I dont Tig, but seems to be pretty hard to do those small soft parts, i would have probably melted thousands b4 the final result! Bitchin! Right click and saved of course
handmade is ALWAYS better than store bought. that little guy rules. If you whip up a couple more I'm sure you could use them to fund some parts for your ride.
What would a Skeleton have too poop out? There is no digestive system present? Just Kidding, very cool!
Yea, I want to know where the skull came from too. That is too cool. All I got was socks and coal for xmas!!
Thanks guys! the whole thing is just a bit shorter than a beer can so the skull is pretty small. it's actually a key fob i found a Spencers Gifts at my local mall. it's resin but the color was spot on for this little guy. I may try to make my own skull in the future but this one works. The TP is... well, TP I actually took a bit off the roll in the bathroom, cut a ribbon with a pair of sissors, and rolled it around a paint brush handle, then slid it off. the TP holder is actually 1/8" TIG filler rod. If i get time down the road i will defiantly make some more. I have quite a few ideas for different "themes". Don't worry, you'all will be first to know.
Now, i know this is over by some time, but im just back from vacation and checkt the last threads i did write on.....just wanted to add that the way you made the TP is genius man! i know it sounds kinda funny!
