Hey all, So straight to the point, I've had my 60 project for three years now, and I'm still not quite sure on a few things. I know basically all there is to know about the 60 - they came to Australia in October 1960, etc But the main thing I'm after is.. Where is the ch***is I.D stamp? Accordingly, I was told it's stamped, so to save time looking, does anyone know where on the ch***is it is? Also, somewhat off topic, I've got a 59' 235 with a two speed power glide. Now I'm all for cruising and not being a hoon, but I was also wondering if there's anything inpaeticular I can add to the engine to make it sound respectful? Not something ground shaking, just a nice sound. It's going to be a daily, and due to being on P plate laws here in Australia, I'm only allowed to drive a 6 cylinder incase you're wondering why I'm going to run a 6 in a 60. Anyways, any info is welcome, thanks guys! Jackson
The Vehicle ID # was on a metal plate riveted to the firewall and one on the door post here in the US. A split exhaust manifold with two glaspack mufflers and duals out the back will make it sound pretty good. For more go,use a dual carb intake, too, but don't expect too much from that six. If the frame is stamped,I'd look on the front frame rails on either side of the car on the top of the rails.
