a few handy part numbers

  1. over the years i have saved the part numbers that worked well for me so i could use them on future projects, here are some of what i have(in no particular order) ...what do you have?

    SBC in a `28-`34 lower radiator hose.....Napa # 7286. #7209 often works on the upper if using the angled water neck

    sbc in a `40 ford lower hose......napa #8685

    `68 mustang drum/drum master cylinder... #10-1485

    fittings to adapt it to 3/16" lines.......edelmann #'s 258302 and 258350

    sbc spin on oil filter adapter for old canister type motors....Wix #24061 , same as napa 4061

    Wix filter for flathead ford canister filter....# 51006 , fram C4P


    wheel studs for buick drums on `47 ford hubs......napa @ 641-1145 , dormann #'s 610-120 and 610-132

    wheel studs i use when i redrill f100 brakes to 4-1/2" bolt circle.....napa# 641-1169


    lug nuts for old ford wheels , 13/16 hex.....Dormann #611-016

    axle nut for `37-`48 ford spindles......dormann #615-067

    8" ford axle seal.....CR # 13700 pinion seal # 18100

    9" ford axle seal......#13738 small bearing , # 15142 big.... pinion seal # 18833

    vega steering box seals......CR #'s 9818 and 6130

    sbc motor mounts ....napa # 602-1054 , th350 tranny mount # 620-1031

    sbc fuel pump push rod.....napa # 6101181

    sbc harmonic balancer repair sleeve.....napa # 600-2016

    speedo cable from th350 tranny to SW/VDO etc speedometer with 5/8" threads....Pioneer # CA-3002 for 63" long and CA-3004 for 83"


    i have many more...what do you have to add?

    Always good to keep part #'s that work.When I'm back from Kona I'll add some I like this link should have a sticky in tech .

  6. thanks... to be honest , i haven't been on here much lately because i haven't found much to be useful , been busy doing things. then i realized i haven't posted much that would be useful to someone else. so here is my try at being useful. i know you guys can add a lot more!

    a few more:

    spin on filter adapter for later SBC's that are not canister type (many new crate motors do not come with it)...GM #3952301 , Pioneer #839049

    air filter for 50's olds/caddy air cleaner....Fram # CA3492 , Wix # 42096

    `70 AMC Gremlin drum/drum master cylinder , basically the same as the famous `68 mustang except the ports are on the other side , that can help in a tight situation.....20-1373

    90 degree 1-1/2" ID radiator hose about 4 inches long each way , can be handy sometime when splicing two hoses.....Napa #777

    Gates powergrip thermoplastic clamps for radiator hoses....32948 for the 1-1/2" id upper hose and 32954 for the 1-3/4 id lower


    SBC flexplates:

    153 tooth internal balance with both 10-3/4 and 11-1/2 torque converter bolt pattern.....napa # 600-5021 or pioneer # FRA112

    168 tooth internal balance both patterns....napa 600-5000 ,pioneer # FRA100

    153 tooth external balance (for the one piece rear seals) ....napa # 600-5061 (10-3/4 only)

    I'm a partsguy by trade, just came across some very compact hood hinges that should work on a variety of cars. Chrysler part #'s are 5104404AA and 5104406AA. They're listed for a Sprinter van (you know, those ugly UPS vans)

    49-51 Ford related, SBC conversion.

    radiator hose,
    upper Gates-21794. lower Gates-20957

    shocks for stock suspenion lowered 3" front, 4" rear
    front, Monroe-5821 rear, Monroe-31000

    front coil springs, lowers 3"
    Ford aerostar-Moog CC850

    SBC stock exhaust manifold that clears stock Ford steering box.
    1984 Camero-Firebird.

    a volkswagon bug coil at schucks is the same used for many applications, and is the lowest price while having the same part number.

    O'Reilly # h1414-2 wheel cylinder link. works on many ford drum brakes , often missing on 8 and 9" rears

    here's one. Front tube shocks for your Model A, 32-34. Use a Monroe #5752 for a 1950 Plymouth. They have the upper cover so they have the old style look. They are around $22 each at O'Reilly's.

    Anyone have part numbers for 9" Ford rear brake parts (Springs, clips, pins, wheel cyl. link, wheel cyl. 7/8", 15/16", 1", 1-1/8 etc.)

    These were gathered while working on my SBC powered T Bucket. I hope they help.

    Short water pump: CWP-373 Duralast (Autozone)
    Alternator belt (using lower alt. mount): 7425 Gates, I believe
    Rear transmission seal TH350: Fed. Mogul #9613S
    SBC upper radiator hose: Gates #20416
    SBC lower radiator hose: Gates #21956
    SBC upper radiator hose, when using centered thermostat housing: Gates #21631

    i had previously mentioned `37-`48 spindles nuts as Dorman 615-067 but not the washers...they are 618-005
