Here's a few shots of my 54 Chev build I thought everyone would like to check out. Approx 4 years with some good friends and it hit the road last summer.
Nice chop, I did a 50 and slanted the B pillars and laid the back window down. Chopping a 50s Chevy is a lot of work you did a real nice job.
it may just be me, but it looks like you fully welded those strips across your roof when doing the chop (instead of a billion little tack welds)....am i right, or no...haha if so please tell me how you did it.
Looks bad ass nice work. I am in progress of chopping my 50 chevy their is a lot of little shit you don't think about till you have it cut apart. you know all the fit and finish.
Thanks for the positive feedback guys, Yes..My buddys David Faulkner tigged it and Ray Tourigny was the man behind the cut...I could not of asked for 2 better metal guys on my side..big props to them! and yes its a driver..383 strkr does great burnouts!
That is amazine. One question though... Is the incision down the middle of the roof made because it stretches to the sides when bringing it down or what?
Thanx..Yes it was stretched 7 inches front to back and like 1 to 1.5 side to side so I could keep the look of the original car but with a lowered lid.
Im hoping to see more of that rig this summer!...thanks for the build pics, now i know i will be keeping my roof height stock this spring!
Cool...you'll see it around, ill be around at a bunch of our events up in the warm sunny corner of the the country!! LOL.. Come by n have a beer w us if u see it.
Heres some more pics of my Chev while I was finishing it...I ended up changing some suspension parts to add Air at the end of build but was not done how I wanted to, So I ripped out all the rear suspension today. We are building a cross member and runnin a truck arm set up, new bags, making a deeper C-notch and re-fitting exhaust. Then changing out shock waves up front for some actual bags (basically doing it the rite way afterwords, sucks cutting up a newly finished car! ) Oh well, will be worth it when done! I gotta get it ready for our 3 months of summer here in New England. Ill get some pics loaded to keep up with progress this week. Heres some of the older pics as I did not load many when I started this thread
This is what I am tearing out to be replaced with a better truck arm set up and more up as I said above, Ill get new pics up loaded this week, I had added an air over leaf set up to what is shown here for last summer but it was a temp deal and worked like shit! So now its all coming out and doing it the right way.
