I got way distracted over the weekend....I started working on the '32 five window!!! I bought a frame in North Carolina about 4 years ago, it was an old hot rodded frame with a really bad Z in the rear. I spent a few days dissecting the welds and removing the plate, finally managed to get it back to stock measurements. I dropped a model A front cross member and a '32 rear that I modified with a '40 center. Got the frame rolling and plopped the body on it.....This is the body I had listed in the classifieds for trade, I think I'm going to build it now, coupedevilles chopped and channeled coupe really inspired me to keep the car. I have all the pieces for the roof and a 4 extra doors.

Like I said I got way distracted.....

  2. Pete,

Is that a tach drive distributor stand in there I see? I just picked one up a few weeks ago, just checking to see if it works for you.

No...wish it was though. Its just the angle of the photo.

Are those rare?? Not the angle of the photo but the tach drive stands??

  4. I was told it was a military tank thing. No Cadillac ever came down the line with them, Does that mean they are rare? I don't know.

I will get you some pics of the one I just got.

I've got a couple of dizzies with the tach drive . They're not rare at all.

Military surplus engines used to be common, so there are a lot of them floating around.

Pete great sheet metal work , did you make the drip rails for the rear 1/4 trs ?? Lines look great and the openings had to involve some time consuming manipulation to get them so close .

  7. Awesome work, love your roadster!!

I bought the drip rail kit from Howells but had the fab the actual lips on the quarters in order to hang the drip rails....yes it was a pain to get both quarters the same, that took some time indeed.

Mark and Becky stopped by the house today after Ty-Rods to check out the roadster, we pushed it than watched it roll down a small hill and just miss a giant pine tree....

This is pretty much the first time I have actually seen the car outside in its final stance / posture, Im pretty stocked!!! Looks like the front may have to come down a bit.

Thanks to Becky and Mark for helping get it back in the garage!!
