Ok so it was toed in way too much, she goes a lot better now, so on to the next issue . The key was left on all day while the work was being done so when I got there needless to say the battery was dead. We threw it on the charger and now it runs like ****. I checked the points and they were not fused together, timing is in the ballpark. It ran better before but remember it was just running on open headers. The carbs have been sitting for about nine years so that's my next place to look.

Ok, it's all coming back to me now! The carbs currently on the car have had some serious jet and power valve work to them, they were at one point on the 33 and then were put on the shelf for a future project, I did however go thru them, found some **** and it runs 80% better. I'll re jet them tomorrow and take it from there.

If it ran well before the key was left on all day then I'd be leaning towards an electrical issue. I might swap out the condenser and ballast resistor to eliminate those possibilities too.

Took the roadster out for a nice country back road drive last night, got the jetting and carb issues worked out. No current issues but still have many small loose ends to complete.

  18. Hey....not to take anything away from anyones build....but this is just a public service announcement. Those "WWII" seat belts that everyone is running are actually still produced and used every day in the C-130 and KC-135 aircraft. Those belts specifically are used in the Refuel boom pod for the boom operators to secure themselves in for as rough flight. Anyone looking to get a set, don't let someone convince you that they are rare or expensive...they pop up on ebay and army surplus stores all the time for under $10.

Ok, im stepping off the soap box now...back to this damned awesome build, I love the look of those caddy flatheads.

I don't think I'll ever paint is shiny, I have way more fun not worrying about Knicks and dings.

Can't wait to see them, I may have to sell a kidney.

The cad motor may need a complete rebuild! Hopefully I won't blow it up on the beach.

I've been having charging issues for about two weeks, finally got it sorted out.
