Technical A fix for the Lokar rattle???

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 31Vicky with a hemi, Jun 19, 2020.

  1. It’s for sure the upper end making noise.
Could be the*****on against the knob, could be the cable inside the stick.

I have a long Lokar shifter, trans mounted, in my roadster and have no rattle - can't recall any rattle on previous ones either. I have a SoCal knob /*****on also. Just been and checked it for any possible wiggle of the*****on and there's none.

You could put a few drops of brake fluid in the join betwixt knob and*****on - I know you know it's clever stuff - why not let it work out what the problem is? ;)

Mine is the cable inside the stick, could be just the harmonics of the engine since others don't have the problem. I don't even have to hold it tight, just a finger on it stops the rattle.
