That's me.. The fool.. Just spent more money on rusty shit cuz " I really want it" 1950s Graco service station.. I told the gf it was really nice... Yeah right.. I guess a proper resto is in order
I'd say if you got what you wanted for the price you felt was fair, you ain't no fool! That's a cool piece.
I think it's a fair price for how rare it is and how complete it is. I'm a happy man...she wasn't too amused especially cuz it smells like dog piss
I want to redo the whole thing, paint it some pearl white or cream and polish the trim The blue is not the og color and it needs work... It also needs rust repair and to get rid of the smell of piss.
I like the duct tape repair holding the tail light on your trailer. I came home one night with a red bandana wrapped over a mag light duct taped to the back of a stock trailer. A fuse had blown for the trailer lights and I didn’t have another one .
This is super cool. I got a few old tune-up cabinets today and was pretty excited for them, but they're common, this is next-level stuff. I don't know if I'd have space for something this big if I found it but I'd have a really hard time turning it down, it'll be a treasure once it's painted up and clean. I assume there was glass in front of that bulb originally, would it have said something? Like, did it have a shop's name on it, or would it just say "service"?
It is pretty cool. I wanted one since I've first found put about them. I thought about making a set out of wood because the high price on them but recently on a marketplace binge(that's how I found my flathead welder)I found this one, little description, bad pictures and a fair price I bit the bullet and dug into my savings... It's really complete only missing keys and one "graco" scriped emblem so please keep an eye out for me.. The glass is there,I just cleaned all the rust out and cat pis that made it smell awfull..then I had our shop bend some bottom channels that were rusted through.. I'm gonna listen to you guys and just touch it up.. My garage is a mess because I'm making room for it
Some random pics of dealing with the rust and some new parts.. I'm going on a quick trip tonight so I won't be playing with it for a few days...
