I've got a 29 A frame I am going to be building up and have been looking at pictures and threads on the suicide front ends however I still have some questions before I go through with it all.

I tossed together a crude drawing for this, hopefully it helps. What diameter tubing/pipe would I use for the cross member? Do I use a smaller diameter pipe and fit it at the very front of the frame (A) or do I use a larger diameter piece and cut the frame back some (B)?

And once that new cross member is in, I remove the old one correct?

If going with a suicide mount you have to move it further forward than where the stock model A mount used to be. The radiator still goes where "B" is and then the tube goes where "A" is. If this is on an existing stock model A frame, the best way to probably go is to cut off the frame horns and extend the frame with some rectangular tubing, maybe piecutting a little out of it to keep the taper going and then make the suicide crossmember out of 2-1/2". -Jimbob

Alright thanks a bunch exactly what I was looking for. :) Now the tough part will be cutting the frame. :)

Have another question about this type of front end:

1 determines the amount the front end is dropped correct? And what widths do I want 2 and 3 to be roughly?
