I'd like to use the round head rivets similar to the factory ones holing the crossmembers in place from the factory, anybody know haw to get that done, tools, technique, were they hot rivets, is it possible without investing an arm & a leg in tools that will only get used a handfull of times?
It is an easy job and not that costly. Do a Google search for "Big Flats Rivet Co." ,GREAT people with everything you will need to get the job done. Here is the address www.bigflatsrivet.com
If one side of the rivet won't show, you can fake the look pretty easy. Use ****on head allen bolts. Then once they are bolted in, fire up the mig welder and fill in the allen hole. A quick grind of the weld and you're done. If you are replacing a countersunk rivet, like the 3 on the top of a Model A front crossmember, simply use a countersunk allen bolt and weld/grind it up too.
