Great build ,This gives me an idea of how mine is supposed to look like. Can`t wait to see it finished..
Perfect solution on the lights. The guides on my truck I did a similar thing too. I bought them cheap because they had crappy primer grey over spray over original black paint on a few spots. I was able to wipe it off with a rag and paint thinner. Sent from my SM-G900T using H.A.M.B. mobile app
Yeah, they are the good ones... I originally wanted to do 682-C's with turn signals, but Keith found these and it was the right call for sure. More simple, more better.
I was told the brass tags were made pre-war and after it started they rationed brass for munitions and went with steel for tags until they needed the steel, then they went to aluminum tags...your mileage may vary.
Yeah, someone repops the early brass etched tags... at least someone did... Not sure if they still do. The ones I sell are the later aluminum with screen printed art - not as cool, but pretty clean.
So Silva stopped by and we got the body off the frame... As mentioned earlier in the thread, the rear half of this chassis is an absolute mess... So, Keith is cutting it off and we are gonna start over...
How could you? That's not "traditional"! You've got to Z it at least 10 inches! Keep fighting the good fight.
While I did my family chores today, Keith worked... and got a long way towards sorting the rear suspension... Tomorrow, I leave for a little mini vacation for the kid's spring break... So, I'll be out for a couple of days and will probably miss some good parts of the build. I'll get y'all caught up once home.
And here I thought I was a mutant for some of my music choices (?), only to hear that in the background. I guess my "engine" isn't that far outta whack after all. You should get excited over those neat and clean tricks. I have a whole book of such things in my head, usually followed by a verbal "...I'm kinda lazy like that..." Lets my peeps know it's not found in conventional info, only in in the library of experience. I'll bet such things happen there several times a month, yes? Man this car turns my crank, right to the limiter. Awesome...
Ah, sounds like a real business. The boss goes on vacation but not without leaving a long list of tasks for the staff and expecting huge progress on his return. Anyway, good to read that you have a life beside HAMB. Enjoy the days with your family.
Now that a cool picture right there Ryan! I think it will have to reside on my PC's screen for a while....
Nice work of Keith, as always. Amazing how patiently he works on every little detail. Must be a kind of meditation
I'm back in town and back to work... Keith, obviously, never left... I missed a lot of fab and a lot of painting... Won't be long before this thing is a roller again - this time, with a proper stance. Someone asked where the rear end housing came from... This one has been on our shelf for a while, but I think it originally came from Speedway. It's brand spanking new obviously...
