Are you going to spray the final color yourself too? I hope so. Nothing better than telling poeple you did it yourself. Now get back to work your making the rest of us [i.e.] me! I hid inside today, to cold to work!

    Yup. Start to finish.

Been incredibly fortunate to be working with Ritchie Holcomb (psycopainter here on the HAMB, and shameless plug for him www.myspace.com/ritchiespaintshop ), who is walking me thru the entire process step by step.

Since I can't afford to pay him for his labour, but I can afford materials and can carve out time, I'm doing all the prep work on my own (under his guidance). He'll do the body work, shoot the paint, and I get to do everything else, including all the sanding, the sanding, the um, sanding, and then I'll do some more sanding and then when I'm done, I'll do some more sanding. :D I'll get to shoot the flake, and the I'll get to start taping, and taping, and taping, and some more taping. . .

That looks so sweet already! I am putting this project off for another year on the Caddy because I know there is hidden cancer in her and right now it's too friggin cold to work on her. I have a ton of stuff to do before the paint and body get done but I plan on doing it all myself also. Good luck with the paint and keep us posted with the progress!!:D

Just caught the thread...niiiiice work! Love the scheme James D. came up with; he did a quickie on my car and gave me some really cool ideas. Tryin' to get somewhere as close to as good as him in photoshop...still workin' at it. Keep it up!

I parked next to you at the Invasion (blue Plymouth wagon) and was digging the Edsel. It's looking really sharp! There's a 2dr parts car (if you need anything) at a yard in Alvord, TX. That's about 45 miles north on 287 from where it splits from I-35W north of Fort Worth.

I'm in agreement with what's been mentioned before. Now is the time to pull the bumpers and grillework, wrap the same treatment into those areas and it'll pull the finished product up a notch.

Clean car, lot of potential to turn out awesome. Good luck

Gotta say it's a disconcerting feeling getting a chub over anything but the cars on the HAMB. But that shot on the hood wih the air hose is damn near ****. Stop that, girl. This place is sacred, you know! It's like getting wood in church.

Send it to my PM if you must post somewhere! I'll do the proper thing with it.

You're fortunate to have such good metal underneath that old paint. One doesn't see too many Edsels at all on the HAMB. Just FYI here is an old pic from Paso, probably early 1990's.
