Well, my buddy got my 48 Plymouth up in the air today while I was at work. This was my recent swap and I took a chance swapping it without having the opportunity to get underneath before I swapped it. I wanted to go through this ride to make sure its road ready as I have plans on driving the snot out of it. Trust me, it seems no matter what I deal on, bad karma soon follows me. I waited and waited and my buddy called me up and said, you need to come and look at this! I was like, great what the heck am I in for. I got to the shop and had him show me what was going on. Well, crap was running through my mind like; maybe the trans was bad or there was a serious engine problem, or maybe the frame is trashed or I need a new rear end etc. All the big stuff. Well all that needed to be done to consider this ride road worthy was the following:<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o> <o></o> Change fuel and brake lines, replace oil pan gasket, change valve cover gaskets and add heat shields where the exhausts runs close the fuel tank. I was really relieved that I wasnt spending an enormous amount of money as I just got back from vacation. Everything else checked out, the car runs like a dream. I would say though, down the road, I will be replacing shocks and maybe braise the frame a little more. <o></o>
What a nice looking plmouth i like it .Glad it worked out you must have been wondering the whole time you where away .
I wasn't really worried about all the work, but all the money I would have had to spend on the Plymouth. Actually, the money I would need to tell my wife I needed to get the Plymouth on the road is what I was really worried about.....
