Iv got 3 and they all work like ****ola,,,whats a good one to buy, anyone have reliable one???,,,thanks jim
yep, rechargable lincoln all the way.. But nine out of ten technicians do not know how to put a cartridge in correctly.. Usually not the guns fault.
I have a 12v Lincoln the I've used for 15 years and is OK. My 2 Lincoln hand guns were bought new in 57 and still function flawlessly. Tip- When installing a new cartridge, take some grease from the bottom of the tube and fill the top end of the tube where the pull tab was. Start the holder 1 thread in the head and release the pressure piston , then finish tightening the tube. Yes, you do have to remove the metal seal. Breaking the pull tab off is not enough. Don't ask.
61bone, good advice, I usually have some trouble with air on a new fill so I will try what you said, thanks. I go through lots of grease in the spring and fall during field work.
EXACTLY!! I was going to ask him how he loaded the gun. I am 46 years old and have used a grease gun ALL my life on projects and cussed all those years, at the age of 30, I was shown the correct way by an older dude that chuckled a lot at me. He showed me the clean way and the way that obviously works much better than the way I had been doing it the 15 or so prior.
I have a couple of the lincoln manual guns and don't like them at all. I have several Ultra Pro guns from NAPA and they better but the Lincoln 12V rechargeable is the one that I carry with me in the summer in the field and the only one I use in the shop.
I have had several grease guns that have been junk too. Good to hear some of this information. Thanks for the tips.
Thanks much for the good info,Im going to try loading one of them the way 61Bone recommends before they end up in the trash. All of them do have the problem of an air pocket and not feeding,,,thanks again jim
I bought one in the 70'S at NAPA, a mechanics grade one and have had it ever since. All I have ever done is change the hose on it.
