I'd rather buy a coupe that needs some work myself.
Buying an already "built" car is so...BOYD! :)

Phatn40...this is a board for people who appreciate nostalgic Hot Rods and Customs.
Street Rods do slip in sometimes, but the main objective is to promote the building, driving and preservation of the early cars and styles.

With that in mind, I have to say your post sounds very condescending.

Hopefully its just the Internet garbling it into something you didn't intend...it happens! ;)

No buying a PERFECT car and ****ing it up is so "BOYD"...

Perhaps this ebay 32 five window is more suited to phatn40's needs... Nice car, but not what the HAMB is about.

The baby blue survivor needs a tune up, no doubt. Brakes checked, the whole car looked over to make sure it's safe. Absolutely. I'd want to change some things actually... but I'd try to keep it looking just the same. They can only be a "survivor" once...

If you really think it needs a small block, a MII front end and disc brakes, you are missing the point of why this car is special. Not saying I agree with the price, but it is definitely special.

This does bring up an interesting tangent to the discussion in regards to having a survivor and keeping it "pure". I don't think I could do it. I like to make a car my own. I could try to personalize it somewhat and still try to keep the essence, but if you own a survivor, what can you really change and keep the integrity of the car's past?

The thing is lads a few mentions of price have been mentioned by the Hambers on here which all sounds good but as i already mentioned the seller wouldnt say how much they wanted for it ,still i love it as is thats the appeal it has to me ,if the seller only wants American money then he might have to park it back up, as i said "money is money".............I was even contemplating jumping on a plane and doing a deal, but there'll be another ?

    Hey Skimmer

you should have this car. Use a hamber as a middleman if necessary.

Often it can be difficult to buy when beeing out of the country of the seller. happens over here also. I know a lot of people who gets furious if a car goes to sweden for instance. WHO THE F... Cares where it goes as long as you get paid. If this is an issue DON'T SELL.
All the "keep it domestic" people should buy cars and store, instead of wine about it.

In the late 70's and 80's there where a large import of nice 50's US cl***ics here in Norway. A lot of restored and nice cars where brought in from Sweden and the US.
I remember an articel in a Swedish mag Called Power Magazine back in 86-87. It said "Another one gone to hell" was about a nice restored 50's car sold to Norway.

10-15 years later the trend turned around and the Swedes started buying 50's cars in Norway. Now the trend in Norway is import of 60's cars, and lots of them.
    The world goes around

......and another thing. We HAMBERS are often not any better than the restorers who refuse to sell their old car to a "Damn Hot Rodder".

The though of street rodding this blue beauty makes me sick all over.
....even if I strongly believe that a cars owner is free to do what ever he desires.
......if someone street rodded it .....I can feel I would like to punch a nose.;)

We are all totaly sick to our minds. It's only an old car. :D

I think, no I know you are in the wrong place talking like that here. This is the HAMB and not a street rod forum.....

Skimmer, if you need any help getting it, just let us know, we can have someone middle man the deal if you can get it....

I don't want to dip my toes too deep into this one guy's, but the seller is actually a restorer and a national judge of 1932 fords....

His reserve is big because his head is big.....

    Happy bidding :D

  16. Speaking of HAmmer Hanks roadster, a newly built car with alot of soul and attatude. I drove it, Well HAMMERED on it while he was up last weekend:D

What a great car. It drives, shifts, handles, like a dream. ANd I'd like to add that His asking price was within a few dollors of the acutal build cost, not including labor.

    Just thought I mention that:D
