This is one of the big reasons I got into this lifestyle, great friends, great cars. And one hell of a story.
I'm just glad this all turned out so well. My parents were really humbled by how polite and gracious Ryan, Marcie, and their families are. They just can't get over the reception they got from everybody. They told me it was one of the best times they've had anywhere they've shown the car, and that's been 35 years and 100,000 miles worth! It's great that they were able to add a little bit to your sister's wedding day. You need to know that you all made their day, too! It's the cars that bring us all together, but it's the people that make it so fun and keep us coming back. Viva la HAMB!
Hey, did I imagine a photo, Marcie? Hmmm, maybe something about a feeding frenzy with 30,000 greasy hoodlums dawned on someone. I can see why Ryan is a very proud and protective brother-in-law. Rightly so.
Cool story -- but no surprise Ryan. Woodie people are a pretty interesting subset of the car-guy world. I've found 'em (for the most part) to be laid back, friendly, generous, irreverent and full of aloha -- and they like to PARTY. Plus a lot of them are into hot rods, too. Load your sweetie and the kids into the car and get yourself to a woodie event.
Hi, I just read the article and currently am in the same situation of needing a cl***ic car for my June 16th wedding in Kansas City. I'm looking to hire a car for a few hours. The wedding is at Guardian Angels in Westport and would need transportation from the church to a couple of landmarks for photos. Please let me know if you can help! John
