With the late Dick Jackson, 2011 GNRS. Me, my two sons Tom and Todd. Where standing near where the JCC was parked, next to his 57' T-Bird recreation. Barry Mazza's Barris Kustom Aztec, behind us. Pretty stout neighborhood. 048.JPG

At this time in my life, I need peace, I need predictability, I need to know how things work that's not asking for much, is it?

The big "OH NO!" Is We’re moving again, still under the same roof at the “old folks” home. We are in a much nicer, larger 2-bedroom apartment. We used the same moving company that we used last time. But, with all we’ve been through this year, this was a bit more than we could handle. After being sedentary these last years, all this is revealing our limitations and how we must know what we can and can’t do.

When our kids realized what had happened, they stepped it up a notch and have made a big difference. So, one more realization about our new status. Growing old isn’t for sissies. I’ve seen this somewhere.

We’re getting ready to move some cars.

I had these T-shirts made at the GNRS when we were there. Here's Jr signing one of them. 243.JPG

We got the JCC transported to the new digs. 1) loaded at the old shop 2) I got bored and took a pic of the interior while I stood there 3) When we arrived, we thought we had a flat tire. It was a loose valve stem 4) landed.

Very strange to see the old shop like this, considering what happened here. IMG_0273.jpg

This is one of my favorite pics of the JCC. Tulsa 2011 show with the afternoon sun enhancing all the colors. Did this really happen? 357.JPG

Merry Christmas to you and yours. I’m unable to post the usual pic. I was hacked yesterday and have the computer at the shop to be wiped.

We got to the skirts as one of the final things that needed to be done on the build. For some reason I assumed that they would be a piece of cake. OH NO, where they were straight the car was round. I had to slice the top edge with a hack saw every two inches, so when they were held up on the body they would conform to the correct contour. Here's IMG_1420.jpg my sons Dan and Tom holding them in place in preparation to me coming along with the welder and spot welding that edge so that when they are removed, they have the correct contour. They didn't know that coming to Texas would automatically make them custom car builders.

A look at the (now) wonderful experience of solving the color problem on this build.

Those elusive grille brackets. Junior drew them out for me when I went to visit him, but I ultimately had to figure them out for myself and then try to see if they matched the only picture, I had of them, they did. I need to add that this grille was the toughest part of this build, many, many hours.
