so im building me an ardun in 1/8 scale and have some questions. i did a search and didnt get the info i want, so figured id ask here. maybe it would be good to have an Ardun thread as i couldnt find much id like to see pics, especially with SCoT blowers. i also need to know what to do with exhaust outlets in flathead block. do i just block em off? where are the radiator hoses outlet on the Ardun? id like to see pully set ups and front and rear views of the SCoT blower. heres a pic of my resin engine and the 32 roadster im putting it in. thanks in advance. this build is based on a forties era hot rod using Robert Genat and Don Coxs book, the birth of hot rodding. i of course have added my own touches.
That's a mighty nice set up you have there. Who cast that resin? If you haven't found what you're looking for in the H.A.M.B. threads search...try the Fotki photo website...Dave Lindsay/SoCalCarCulture.com photo album...his engines album http://public.fotki.com/wackydave/cars_-_various_themes/engines/flathead_fords/ardun_heads_01.html
Maybe these will help, here a couple of detail shots I took of John Mumford's S.C.O.T. blowin' Ardun powered '34 3-window in Pleasanton last August.
wow, thanks guys. thats most of the info right there i needed. the other is the backing plate on the SCoT blower. im not sure which way up they go and i need to see the older Ardun for the water outlets. thanks for the help.
heres a pic of where its at now. i wasnt sure if i should paint the heads or leave em silver, but decided the block colour on them would make the block look bigger.
That looks good so far, you're off to a great start. Here's some pics I took of Dave Simard's Ardun, ex Tom Senter engine. I hope you can find a right angle drive Vertex for yours! and the money shot... by Steve ****an
wow, thanks 327-365hp. ive taken a couple of images from google, but thats the best pic so far. i do have a magneto, but its a little diffrent to the vertex. ill use it and make up a drive for it. are the two chrome bell looking things on the front of the heads water outlets? i can see the bottom ones.
Looks great keith! Wow! Was the cover pic of that rj taken at dave's shop? I remember the o'neal car in street rodder in bare metal
