little car related story... We had a '67 camaro in the shop today and my boss casually said "Chevrolet gave us one of these with a 427 once". That caught my attention. I asked him some more about it and it turns out he drove the "Fyling Banner" for Banner Chevrolet. GM had given them a COPO 427 camaro to campaign in '69. He said it sucked. Kept blowing up transmissions and ripped the dana rear completely out of it once. Culvert (sp?) had redone the engine a bit and it was just too much. Soafter he realizes I am interested in this stuff we start talking about his older cars. He had a '34 ford coupe that was channeled and chopped that had the motor set back in it. It either ran a flathead or a 327. It was called the "Evil Weevil". It graced the pages of Cartoons once in a grudge match against the Chicken Coupe. He also had a pearl white anglia called the "Hopper" it ran a 327, a BGas '55 chevy with full chome moly chassis and straight axle, and a number of other chevelles and stuff. He's gonna dig up a photo of the anglia, but he said they never took pictures and he regrets it. Anyone have a picture or two of these cars? He was on the pro circuit with the anglia for 2 years. The others were often at Green Valley raceway. Sometimes it pays to get to know you're boss a bit better.
