So, I guess that puts to rest the old saying that there is no such thing as a stupid question...

5. I called my buddy some years back, spinning a tale of woe, as I had just determined that the cam gear in my '49 Chrysler Windsor 6 had stripped.
He says "Did you bend a valve?"

alloutratrods was hoping you'd give him a "brake" and include the hoses...

Then again, maybe he understands they are mechanical brakes and just wants to "accessorize" to keep his rat rod looking "traditional"...(hhhhuh, did I just say that?)

Fortunately for him, he's oblivious and you kept your response professional.

Anyone who's met Kevin understands he possesses a pretty much UNEQUIVOCAL knowledge of EVERYTHING hot rod related. Sometimes I feel dumb just asking him a legitamite question, but the resulting education is always worth it.

7. That's why some stuff sells and reappears on ebay two weeks later, lot's of bidders don't know what they're buying and are affraid to ask a stupid question, then again.....stupid is as stupid does.

I listed my Triumph on craigslist. I clearly stated in the ad that it isn't running becuase of an electrical problem. Here is a response I got....this is a direct quote

"well just want to ask does it drive ok/run ok and would you possibly be interested in a trade for a 1994 oldsmobile it looks like a really nice bike or a rare guitar "

Dude, you should feel like that. I don't know everything. And am the first to admit that I have a TON to learn. No question is dumb. I've found that pretty much everyone knows more or less than I do, and it all depends on at what point in their lives they took an interest in cars.

They walk amongst us.

Usually they don't take time to read the whole add or often the whole paragraph.

I offered up a free S-10 body shell bring your own hacksaw a while back and got a few similar inquiries but couldn't even give away free parts.

You ought to take him up on it. It's not everyday you get to trade your motorcycle/rare guitar for a sweet ass 1994 Olds.
