Got This Guy Asking Me For A Little Help Putting His 352 Block Back Together. And That He Is Going To Try And Put A 390 Crankshaft Into A 58 Edsel 352 Engine Block. I Can't Help Him Out What I Need To Know Dose The 352 Ford Block Have The Same Deck Hight As The 390. Reason Being The 390 Crankshaft Has 281 Thousands Longer Stroke. He Has Bough A New Camshaft, Lifters "Push Rods" Rocker Arms & New Connecting Rods And Pistons. I Have Checked Some Things Out Like The 352 & The 390 Uses The Same Main Brgs Size As Well As The Rod Brgs. But Can't Find Any Info On The deck Heights.
Thank You All For Any And All Help.

The deck heights are the same. Everything else interchanges. Make sure you have the correct connecting rods as the 352 uses a longer rod due to the shorter stroke. Fordfe.com is your friend.

Just use 390 rods, crank and pistons. A .050 over bore will be stock 390 size.

I hope there is enough material in that block to overbore it. I read from somewhere that not all 352 blocks have enough material overbore to 390 size.

The vast majority of 352 blocks have more then enough material to go 0.050" over, unless there was a core shift during the casting process. That being said, I have never heard anyone complain that they were disappointed that they spent the $100 bucks or so to have a block sonic checked.

Also, That 0.050 overbore with 428 running gear will turn your lowly 352 into a 410 without any other machine work.
