Technical A little help..... please

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 1stGrumpy, Sep 12, 2015.

  1. I picked up a set 16" X 4" wires and a set of 16" x 4 1/2" artillery wheels yesterday for $150.00. Both sets are 5 on 5 1/2" bolt pattern. I know what the wires are but not sure about the artillery wheels, I asked this question over on the Ford Barn because I thought that they were both Ford products but someone over there said that they were '35 Buick. I didn't know that Buick had a 5 on 5 1/2" bolt pattern, I googled '35 Buick wheels and the picture that came up didn't look anything like mine. Anybody recognize them? The center section is riveted in place not welded. Thanks...

O.k., I found a picture of '35/'36 Buick artillery wheels and they are definitely not Buick! Buick had a 5 on 5" bolt pattern. See picture #3.

Wire wheels with welded spokes....not Chrysler. They were adjustable on the Chrysler products.

  4. Here are better some pictures of the wheels. They are 16" X 4 1/2" with 14 spokes, metal ring in center for hub cap. 5 on 5 1/2" bolt pattern.

I've got a set of the riveted type two piece wheels that are similar, rivets, not welds, 14 spokes (I'll have count mine, sounds right) most of mine have an added metal strip for a hupcap flange. Mine are 5x4.5" BP, was told they were Dodge or Plymouth. Haven't found a stamp like KH or anything. K6

The rusty wheels are not MoPar, but the black one is.

  7. A little more information, 3 1/2" center hole and 5/8" lug holes. I believe that that's the same as a Ford. Hub cap ring is spot welded to wheel. I can't find any stampings.

  8. I think that I have found it, 1934 Studebaker 5 on 5 1/2" bp. 1st picture is the Stude wheel and the 2nd is my wheel. Looks like a match to me...

    Thanks guy's
