I read the article a few weeks ago on rendering - terrific information. I have now spent several nights trying to accomplish something similar to those results with little (no) success. Would someone be willing to help me with this one when they get a chance? No hurry. It's a winter project. I have the Desoto hemi and drivetrain ready to go in, the spoked "A" wheels sandblasted and powder coated, The wide whites on the ground, the DeSoto dash and steering column in my possesion. I have what's left of the original grille shell. I'd love to have something to hang on the wall to shoot for and any other ideas that you'd think would look cool. Hey MoparBruce, what kind of intake are you going to run? I'm stuck on the intake. I thought I'd give it a shot. I'll try to get something done by Friday Art Show time. Seems like a challenge. I'm going to make up the rest.
Hey Mopar Bruce, I got your e-mail after I got done with this thing. I came within a inch of putting one 4-barrel and a repro Olds-Cadillac breather on this thing, but went Strombergs anyway. How about a homemade grille out of tubing with a place to put your shift knob at the bottom, maybe hook the lights up to it too. I put your radiator in the trunk to cut down on the frontal area . If you have it channeled down , you might not have room for a radiator stickin up. The front end gets a little lighter looking when you can see thru the grille to the engine. Other than that its pretty much by the book. I got it doing a burnout, like on its madien voyage for a YouTube video or what not. I like stuff thats different thats why I gave it a try,just to see what it would look like! Sometimes something that you would think would be ugly, comes out pretty decent in a drawing. It would definitely have at***ude !
