Love stories like this.... It just goes to show that they are still out there for sure !! Good for you.
Man, your find is a real inspiration to all of us! Even old farts like me, who have sworn that the current project is the last one start getting the urge on seeing this! Please continue on this thread, not only for getting them home, but for what you decide to do and then thru the build(s). I wholeheartedly agree with you on sitting back and contemplating your course of action and the style of the build for awhile. A treasure such as this is not something to start off "half ****ed" on.
Added one more ( not really HAMB friendly) that will head to a family member... Power roof, seats, steering, brakes. 6 cyl/ auto. It's running and complete and rust free. I CAN STOP NOW ( everything else in his barn is sold anyway - including the 66 fairlaine 500 2 door).
That's a great find. Also refreshing to see a story like this instead of the usual "kids are gonna crush dads old cars"
Great find and congrats on getting all three. Merc looks like it is pretty nice shapae and has a lot of possibilities.
This wouldn't have happened if you were supposed to hang up your tools; your head must be ready to explode with all those "builds" going on up there!I like that Merc NOW, it'll be a stunner cleaned up. Congrats and HAVE FUN. Mike from M***.
Fred - great photos! Thanks and have fun with the Merc build - its always a great feeling to finally get a car that you have wanted for a long time. I know you will do right by it, 50 Mercs are icons in this hobby. Steve
