I have a question that i hope some of you can help me with....

What sort of modifications would need to be done to a 30/31 Ford cowl band to fit a 28/29 Ford coupe cowl or is there such a thing as a 28/29 cowl band? I have done some research and can't seem to finf anything earlier than earliler than 1930.

    Any advice appreciated.

The 28-29 did not have a cowl band.

The 30-31 cowl is wider and slightly taller so you could take a 30-31 cowl band and resize it to fit a 28-29. Seems like a lot of work. Alot of people take the 30-31 band off, as it does not seem to go anyplace from a design standpoint. The 30-31 has great stamped embossed design lines that flow together and the cowl band is 90 degrees to it.

Actually there were 28-29 Briggs or Murry Fordor Sedans that had a cowl band. They were brass vs. the stainless steel 30-31 bands. EARLY 1930's used 4-6 clips that attached the band to the cowl. With some work you could get a 30-31 to fit. Good luck.:)
