  3. You may get slightly more respect if you post a shot of it doing a wheelie.

    No. I thought not.

here's my take. it's interesting, can't deny that. do i like it? i dunno. here's the thing; i thought this was a traditional hot rod and custom forum. the old skool rodz comment was right about on the money. putting headers on backwards?? as long as you're comfortable with that...just like you're comfortable welding with no shirt OR helmet.

Wow. I'm surprised at the shit your getting on this forum for that car? I freaking love it! Wouldn't build it for myself, but, I have a shit ton of respect for it. Beutifully done! Very creative and original. I FREAKING LOVE THE COLOR!
I'm glad to see you seem to be able to take the criticism in stride. Ofcourse looking at what you built it's obviuse that you think for yourself. I really like it. Good Job!

Oh, and as someone else said, Post a picture of it doing a wheelie!

Not my style, but at least he built it.

How many of us have that half-assed idea that has been in our heads since we were kids?

Well, a man posessed...At least he built it.

reminiscent of the freaky looking way early indy car. it was gold..and probably the first car with a rollbar.

anyone know what the heck I'm talking about?

    Piper Tomahawk??

I'm guessin the headers on backwards helps keep you from burning the crap outa yourself gettin in and out.

Gotta give you alot of credit for actually building it.

So, if it's a Wheelie Machine, where's the link to YouTube?

Just don't kill yourself doin it.

Pulling useless crap out of a junkyard to make a show rod lookin daily driver seems pretty traditional to me.

he was grinding it looks like. still not safe with no shirt on but the safety glasses will protect from that. should have a safety shield.

I hate grinding even in short sleeves as the damn sparks will burn ya and I do not want little burn marks on my tattoos.

Here are my thoughts about it (not that you asked).

I rather like it, however I have a few problems with it design wise.

My main problem is with the rear section of the body. I simply looks lopped off and sort of unfinished. Its a big flat area hanging way up there in space.

What could you have doen differently? I'm not sure........although LUX BLUE is right about that big gold colored early race car. What was it's name??? The golden goose or something?

Anyhow, I remember it being big and round and having a bit of a boat tail I think.

Perhaps that's what your body could use....a bit of a boat tail.

    Things I really like:

    The green paint.
    The rivits in the body.
The way the windshield and doors look.
    The Cragar ss's.

    Things I think it needs:

Something else done with the headers. Big chrome zoomies come to mind.

Something done with the intake. Big assed blower definitely comes to mind.

Maybe the body laid on more level with a boat tail to finish the rear.

All in all though I think its a pretty cool build and certainly more than what I've managed to muster up. I wouldn't worry too much about the shitters on here. If you notice, a lot of them are quick to start shitting on something but speachless when it comes to explaining why.

Most people can't really think outside of a pre determined set of rules. They latch onto the current fad and puff and blow a lot about how this or that is traditional or what not.

Fact is I'd rather look at your big green meany than most of the "traditional" cars of the people making fun of you. I've seen most of their cars. While they are certainly cool......they do get old after a while because they are plain jane if you know what I mean.

In the end I think it's a few simple design problems that keeping your machine from getting the respect it deserves.

(and yeah, I want to see a wheelie pic) :D

I was thinking it could use some sort of jet engine flame thrower setup in the back.

Reminds me of what a stick bug does when you kick it across the shop floor.
