Truck is looking real nice, I've got the exact same pile of parts to build my '39 out of. Good luck with all the wires, I don't understand that stuff. Bob

For some reason, I really enjoy wiring.

I will be wiring my 40 truck soon. Is there a reason why the wires are coming out high on the firewall? I'm not being a smart-ass. Just curious and I'd do the same when the time comes for me to run the wires.

That's where the factory wires come through. There is a neat rounded cover that goes over it.

Truck is coming along great! Any chance that you could post the part numbers for the Flywheel, Clutch, Pressure Plate and Throw-out Bearing that you used to mate the NV3500 to the Gen 1 two piece seal SBC? I think that you contributed to a different thread that talks about that combo but I was hoping you could share part numbers. I am headed that direction with my '40 coupe and it would be nice to use a known formula. Looks like the shifter ends up in a great location.

I didn't keep track of part numbers.

For the flywheel and starter, I just looked for 1970 Camaro 350, 168 tooth.

For everything else, clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearing, slave cylinder,
master cylinder is all 1994 Chevy pickup stuff.

  17. Looking really good. What did you end up doing with the PCV valve?

I was looking at valve covers on Ebay and found this set, super nice, and none of the corvette guys were bidding
on it because one cover had been modified for the Offy breather. Then it occurred to me, buy the valve covers, seal the breather and then drill a hole in the side for PVC. So that's what I did.

I didn't realize that the fan sits so high on a SBC equipped 40 Ford.

So, I fabbed up a shroud...

    Now, the next problem.

The grill is kinda beat. It's broken at all four corners, and missing a chunk of the middle.

I had no idea that these were no longer being reproduced!

Good ones are few and far between and $$$$$$$.

I just got some Super Alloy 1 from muggyweld.com, we'll see how the repairs turn out.

So here I was thinking "oh they still make those grills " then I download this and notice old back order Bob is out of them again. The other thing is I noticed the price has gone up $500.00 since he put out the 40 ford catalog just 3 years ago. I hope your repair project goes well. Please show the process.
