The quote has been slightly tweaked over the years but we all get the gist.

We recently attended the '54 Ford Club of America convention in Memphis, Tennessee and the host hotel was the Marriott and the staff wanting to welcome our club printed several posters throughout the lobby and near the elevators.

I give them credit on their part for putting forth the effort to welcome us but with just a little more research on their part the posters might have offered a accurate representation. :D HRP

I'm surprised they actually used a Ford.

Stultifying, but sadly not unexpected in this day and age.

Somehow they used a little known photo of a Ford concept car that was kept under wraps until they were about to launch that model.

Maybe that's a customized 54 with a whole bunch of 59 parts:confused::eek::D Don't feel too bad, I had a guy ask me who customized my 55 Buick one time. When I ask him what the hell he was talking about he said he saw the "Special" name on the side so he just knew the car was a wild custom, he read a lot of hot rod magazines. I just told him the car was done at one of the big outfits in Michigan, General Motors!

I think it’s great that the staff took the time to do that. If they are not car people then the mistake is understandable, I don’t think it means they weren’t thinking or such. Sometimes an Internet search isn’t accurate and how would they know the difference.

Good show, back when Tom Hoskins started the club in 1986 he decided to have a biennial convention and move them around the country, in 2014 he p***ed the presidential torch to Don Allen and he continues the tradition. HRP

John, funny you should mention that, I missed it when I first entered the lobby and several others never noticed it until the second day. :D HRP
