Hey guys. Still trying to get my Chevy back on the road, but here's a link to a picture or two: http://www.angelfire.com/geek/ofalltrades/parkwood.html

And a question. Would anyone have a list of the 55-64 chevy 10 bolt gear ratios and the corresponding number of teeth on the ring and pinion? Seems it would be a simple enough chart, but I can't find one.

You know the number of teeth on the ring and pinion?

Divide # on the ring by # on the pinion

    3.08 - 37-12
    3.36 - 37-11
    3.55 - 39-11
    3.70 - 37-10
    4.11 - 37-9
    4.56 - 41-9
    4.88 - 39-8
There were a few in the 5. range, but I figured you didn't want those for the street/strip. These are the ones most frequently used.

parkwood60- the flag on the roof kicks****! love the green and the hubcaps. Good luck on getting it back on the road. Asfar as gear ratios go head to a bookstore and look for Chevy by the Numbers -I think the authors name is Colvin- very handy when trying to ID anything. Has a list of ratios and chevy part#'s for the various ring and pinions.

My 60 Chevy is back on the road, thank's to you guys. I finally did the diff. swap, and it was as easy as everybody said. Except for getting gear oil in my hair, ruining a pair of coveralls, and getting stabbed in the back with the spider gear shrapnel while rolling around under the car, it was smooth sailing. The brake drum slide hammer trick worked perfectly

The 3.08's are out and 3.56 are in, much better pick up too. Now, you may wonder how I got 3.56's when...

...I haven't a clue. But I've got 9 teeth on the pinion and 32 on the ring, and I counted three times. I really don't care, but it seemed strange to me.
