Hey guys, Are the Magnum 500 wheels in the GM bolt pattern worth about the same amount as the Ford/NOpar pattern?

I have 4 15 inchers in a GM pattern with spinners, and I'm trying to get a guesstimate on value...

On Egay, the 4.5" pattern 15's go for over $100 a wheel, are the GM's comparable? More desireable? Less desireable?

Does it depend on width? or the original application? or???

    Lemme know guys!

    Thanks!

Oh come on... I know I can't be the ONLY one that's also into "M****e" cars! ;)

These ones are on a '64 Impala SS I just picked up as an Xmas gift for my girl.

They're obviously not the correct wheels for the car, and I don't particularly care for them anyway...

I'm hoping I'll be able to off the wheels to cover the cost of the car (or at least a big chunk!), as I'm in NO shape financially to be buying more cars right now.

It was too good of a deal to p*** up though... and everytime I buy a car, she says "When the hell are you gonna buy me a '64 impala?". I though it might be a good way to earn some brownie points, especially if I can get it essentially "free"!:)

So anyway, after all that rambling... What can you tell me about the wheels?:D

    Thanks!

  3. They are buick rims since they are the only GM division that used them.

4.75" BP means the A and X body cars. I would post them on a buick board. If they are nice you should get decent money for them. There is also 5" BP for the large cars which are much more common.

Im sure they are worth less. I bought a set from a yard for $20 each. The GM wheel are much easier to find in yards than the Ford or Mopar. BTW, Ford and Mopar are different from each other. The hub center is smaller on the Ford wheel.

  6. A magnum wheel is a magnum wheel ford or chebby.

If you're restorer and need one or you're just into 'em you'll give what ya gotta give.

3 or 4 years ago a guy with an El camino gave me 90 dollars for one because he wanted it for a spare. But I'da sold it to anyone for 10 bucks. I always feel kinda dumb saying OH gee that's too much for that why don't you just give me way less than that.

    I hear ya there!:)

I paid $400 for the whole car, non-running 327/auto (the heads are missing), PS/PB/AC, real SS, with an extra ****** in the trunk, so I think I did alright; but If I could offset that, and get rid of these ugly wheels in the process, it wouldn't bother me any!:D

I know Oldsmobile ran magnum 500's and Buick have their own wheel which looks similar to a Magnum 500 but they are different and the Buick wheels came in both small bolt pattern and large pattern. Are you sure they are magnums? the Chevy SS wheels in 69 and 70 look almost exactly like a magnum 500 but they seem to sell for more. That's my 2 cents.

They say "Magnum 500" in the center of the spinners, so I'm guessing that at least the spinners are!:D

  10. K-H Magnums were also sold as aftermarket wheels and thats why they have Magnum 500 centers in different bolt patterns. K-H also sold Mags Stars as aftermarket even though they were OEM wheels for Ford/Merc/Shelby and I've even seen them on Rovers and Italias. Stu
