After seeing the 54 Ford on E-bay i am thinking about how my gold 56 Dodge would look with the nose up in the air..I have always liked the gasser stance but i dont know where to start to get the car rolling..I know i need the straight axle first but do you cut off the original frame and fab one up out of tubing? or use the old frame? How do you go about making a steering set up for it?

Do a search for gasser post and you'll see how quite a few have been done.

This post will show how the boys at Radshit Methane Industeries did my Stude wagon

I went the cheap and really easy route (and did I say cheap?). After bolting on fiberglass fenders, hood, losing the front bumper, inner fender panels and anything else that isn't needed, a set of brand new stock coil springs is all it took to get the nose high on my '57 Chevy wagon. 14-inch wheels in front help the effect by giving more daylight between wheel opening and tire.

A set of heavy duty front coil springs might also do the job on your car.

The Chevy is easy to find stuff for. You might try calling Moog, Eaton Detroit Spring, etc. and see what the stock dimensions for your springs are, then get a set with the same spring rate and diameter but taller, and install them in yours.

I've never driven one, but I've heard that straight axle, nose-high cars can be a handfull on the road.

I built a front clip for mine because some douchebag had already hacked off the stock front frame.

i moved the rear axle forward 6in. and moved the springs inboard then cut out the tubs and installed new tubs with the inner edge right at the frame edge to allow wider tires without altering the frame.i did have to add a crossmember to hang the rear shackles from.at the front i cut off the frame rails and replaced them with 2x4 tubing, used 55 f-100 front axle and springs .
