How would you, or is it even possible, to mix a satin and a gloss finish on the same panel and it be a seamless transition from one to the other. If it were on a panel where there was a piece of trim then i would just use the trim to hide the line between the satin and the gloss but i am looking at the hood of a 51 buick and would like to have the contrast between the satin and the gloss on there but there is not any trim to hide the line. I know VERY little about painting, but i was thinking i might be able to tape off where the satin would go and shoot a flat single stage then re tape and shoot regular base then clear over the whole hood at one time. but i dont know if you have to have a special clear for the single stage or if you can clear over the single stage then i dont know if the flat would end up looking like gloss once the clear was laid on top of it. so i am just looking for some info while i try to get it all figured out. thanks for any input.
