I just purchased a flathead described by the seller as a 1952 or 1953 Ford 8ba. What has me confused is the heads have Ford script with "EAC". In Tex Smiths book the complete Fh he shows "EAC" as a Mercury. The heads and block look like orginal tangerine paint. The carb is a Ford 94 with 8ba. In time I will tear it down and know for sure what I have but hoping someone knows about the "EAC" mark.
    Thanks

I think the EAC is a '53 ford....EAB is '52...Bruce Lancaster is the flathead guru around here...maybe he'll chime in....Take care

EAC is a '52-'53 Merc. EAB is a '52-'53 Ford. EAC has about the same combustion chamber volume as an 8BA head. EAB has a smaller chamber volume for a higher compression ratio. It is fairly uncommon to see a flathead that is all original. Parts were swapped around like crazy of the years.
