Okay, so here is my first real post with pictures and all..I hope it’s not to soon!! [IMG]..bare with me I will have to post one pic. at a time until I figure this thing out. I might as well be an fng!

So these are some progress pictures of my dad’s roadster pick-up. You may have seen some picture in Denise’s post when the GMB’s invaded. This is an update:

Okay, so first off we got the body back from Ron May at The Chopper Shop, this body has about 450 hours in to making it right, Ron’s work accounts for (I don’t have the exact figures in front of me) well over 150 of those!

the bottom of the floor has been coated in lizard skin ceramic insulation, sanded smooth and primed. Inside the doors, interior cowl and rear body are coated as well.

Last week my dad made his pitman arm out of a piece of pre-splined ¾” bar stock...
chucked it up in the.......vice and started grinding, a day and a half later.....here it is all hooked up with the draglink, steering arm and bubble cover (these are for sale)

Thanks for taking the time to post these pics. This is what the HAMB is all about! I really appreciate the craftsmanship in the parts you guys create.

Would you mind showing a pic of the inside of the back of the cab and door jamb? It looks like there are two pieces of square tube that run from one side to the other. I would like to see how they tie into the jamb and generally how that ties to the floor, etc.

    Thanks,

    Neal...in CA

Congrats! You and your dad seem to work well together - everything looks great...Main thing is you guys are havin' fun! Thanks for the pix - my entertainment for the night...

  17. Everything looks well thought out. Nice job ! I see a Schroeder sprint car steering. How many turns will it have lock to lock ? It appears that the left front steering arm is long enough that the tire and drag link won't get together when the wheels are at left lock.

    Excellent ! [IMG]

  18. Looking good . I ca'nt wait to see it done. You guys do such awesome work. [IMG]

Matt, I seriously dig the matching blister on the other cowl. Just an extention of the AMAZING detail in that little truck.

Am I the only one that thinks it looks like a ratchet - and that it's cool for that?

Looks good, but i'm wondering, the set-up for a pitman arm, well what does it consists of, I wanna run one in my truck, but I don't get how it attaches to the steering, or what you need for it to attach to the front end???? Is there anyway you can do another post and show the how to on that...

here ya go Neal (edit, sorry [IMG])...in raw "kit car" fashion the body had a wood structure, Stewart from real hotrods fixed the body (belt line off 9/16" side to side) and put steel in at both sides of the doors and around the back.
edit: there is also steel in the rockers frt. to back
