I'd keep the body and windshield as is, heavy channel, early Olds mated to a '37 Lasalle trans and Olds rear, 15 inch WWW and '56 Olds Starfire hubcaps.

The gauge cluster in the dash is pretty cool too. Is it from a 1950s Oldsmobile?

Hey, he has a '61 Pontiac under plastic in the background. :)

I think this roadster body is priced very fair and if it was closer I would have already bought it. Before the guy who has it listed now listed it. It was first listed dusty with a frame, 32 grille and other parts for $1500 or best offer. I told the seller I would take it and he said it was already pending. Then I seen it was listed in Roscoe IL about a week later Just the body and had been cleaned up.

Tim, I just went back and looked at my messages with him (The original seller) His name was Shawn Dail and I talked to him on August 30th. He has removed the ad I remember now as at first he thought it was a 32 roadster and I told him it was a 30 or 31 but either way he already had it pending when I talked to him. He wanted $1500 or best offer and he was selling it for either his Dad or Uncle. There was a frame and you could tell it was a old channeled hotrod and it had a cut down 32 grille shell and some other misc parts. The pics were not great! as it was caked in dust. looked like it was in a loft or an old shed of some sort.

Cool to have a little more history on it either way I guess.

It's a shame it was separated from the frame/rad she'll, but it would make a great project all the same! @Mikko_ has the plan nailed

Talk to the seller and feel him out, maybe mention the ad that hotrodlane mentioned. Doesn't hurt and someone might score more of the original parts (frame, grille shell, etc.) Also, I vote for adding more Olds parts to the mix like was done in the past (think donor car). Hopefully a HAMBer will get it and share more!

I spoke to him briefly and he said he didn’t have any more info or any old photos. It would have been neat if he did!

Hey, Joey! I was referring to the posts by hotrodlane where he talked about a previous for sale ad that he saw with a lower price and more parts. Your posts always get the hot rod juices flowing! How's the roadster coming?

Man I think I’d look at it and say “what would Bob bleed do”

it’s half way there already. I initially thought some chromed steel slots and thin whites like Chris Itos “the cockroach” but maybe the wide whited with fogged steelies and spider caps is really the way to go circa bob’s builds 15-20 years ago.

a snotty olds and some crazy headers. Half a dozen carbs and we’ll be cutting donuts in the parking lot like we are about to film a Mad Fabricators video!

    bring your own monster masks.

Seeing this thread kinda brought this back to my attention. I messaged the seller who has it now yesterday and offered him $2500 for it and he replied and said it is pending sale until Monday and if the guy flakes he is going to let me know. I should have just tried to buy it as soon as I seen the new seller relist it. But it kinda killed it for me knowing I missed it for $1500 with all the other parts. Nothing wrong with what Don is doing, He is most likely just doing a quick flip to get some cash to help fund other projects, I do it myself when I can. Either way someone is getting a good deal on this body at $2750.00. I payed $3800 for my 29 roadster body and it was probably in worse condition than this one. The only down side I see to this body is the doors being molded shut, But from the looks of the inside that won't be too hard to fix. Surely another Hamb member (Pic Collector) here saw the original add and saved the pics and will post them here for everyone to see. Meanwhile I will reach out to the original seller and ask him if he will forward them to me.
