I'm just speachless. I like the others have that fear in the back of my mind every moment. To loose one of my cars would kill me but to loose the entire flock.................. I mean each one is almost like a child....... No words come at all only sorrow. :(

Thank You everyone... This is Jason. None of the cars or vintage speed parts were insured. Only the building and tools. My dog Molly did get out.

thats a familiar site to this guy..and it sucks to no end.

Took me many many years to recover, although you never "really" do.
I even got away from my passion and hobby for a while because of the pain.

I got back into it some 10 years later and its been a slow row to hoe.

My Heart goes out to you, and all those involved, at least no one was hurt, be thankfull of that.
spending time in the burn unit sucks, I wont go into that

  8. Jason, Do you know what caused the fire? The only reason I ask is maybe it might spare another one of us from a similair demise.

What a shame. Sorry for your loss. Good Luck to your rebuilding efforts. I think I've always been more concerned about fire over theft. At least with theft you have a remote chance of getting your stuff back if the dirtbags are caught.

  15. Mine as well, since my house is above/next to it!

My mentor/pal and I would get into a ritual when working on my T and his A, 30-40 minutes before we shut stuff up we would cease All grinding and welding and clean/relax and looks for embers.................

  16. Damn that really sucks! Those pics give me a sick feeling. I feel for bad for anyone involved.

Oh my gosh, Jason. It hurts to see those cars like that. I'm sorry for your loss, and hope that you can get on and get back after that. Thats a fear that I always think about, but losing all of that! It is good to hear that you and your dog were not hurt in the fire. Good luck and best wishes..

X2 please share the reason if you are able to point it out. I am so paraniod of a spontanious electrical fire I shut off the breaker to the shop when I walk out.

  21. Very sorry to hear about this! When I started to build my 30 chevy I put a picture of the silver ford tudor that you built on my garage wall for some inspiration. You have great talent and great visions. It will be hard, but you will make a strong recovery.

That's how the storage building I had a '32 2 dr. and a '69 Z-28 parked in looked like after the owner set fire to it to collect the insurance. I had approximately $25,000 worth of parts there also. Due to a clever clause in my insurance and the total lack of any content insurance on the building owners part I took it right in the ass. The owner's mother coughed up $20,000 to help out the renters (there were 3 others renting space besides myself) because she felt sorry for the suffering caused by her low life son. My share was $4,000. As he was out on parole at the time of the fire he returned to jail and is set for release in about 3 years. Sure would like to "talk" to him when he's released.
