final pics of rear access panel installed, 99% complete with tunnel (need to finish shifter linkage access pane), DS seat pan installed. I spent many hours working on this floor and looking back, it is apparent that I NEED more shop space to house more metal working tools like rollers, shrinkers, a E-wheel, and a brake. Still looking for dash ideas. In the spirit of getting this car ready for Midnight M***, I think I'm going with a flat piece of sheet metal and may swap out later. Also, what do you guys think about this perforated sheet metal for the visor. Originally, I picked this up to see how it looked in the grill shell and it might compliment the car nicely, but I'mnot really sure how it settles with me yet
Great build. I love the idea of the mesh in the visor. I've been giving alot of thought to cutting the hood lip off of my cowl and maybe trying to use the stock firewall. Any input would be appreciated. Got any more photos of that area finished? Thanks for the inspiration, Brian
this is a awsome build but i have to ask 1 question, why run the alernator off the rear end??? if your stuck in traffic and decide to turn it off or let it run a little longer than expected it will short live the battery charge, are you doing something different to compinsate for this???
I wanted to clean up the engine. I have heard 50 / 50 reviews on this set-up, so it's a gamble. I'm running a new yellow top and only thing that will pull serious amps if the fan. Actually the only electrnics I'm running is the fan and running lights. Well see
Damn, I can't wait to see this in person. Hopefully I'll have some time at M*** if not before. NICE JOB!!!
Almost every weekend I have from here to m*** is weddings, work, family vacation etc.etc. It's going to take some Looooong hard nights to get here done. But that's the goal.
Completed items this weekend - Completed all frame welding - Fluids in diff and trans - Finished cooling system - started plumbing fuel system - cut holes in all x-members for battery and fuel lines At first I didn't care for the upper cooling system, but after I completed it, I like the rough industrial look and decided to keep it. All of the red / blue fittings will be hidden under the car.
That looks really good. I like the mesh in the visor. Are those Dzus fasteners on the removable panel? Or something else?
Thanks. At first I was with the majority of the board on the mesh, but I have since decided to keep it and add more to the car. The fasteners are the summit knock off of DZUS. Work nice
Maybe. My coupe has suffered from serious lack of attention this summer . I am hoping to pull the body off this winter, rebuild the hemi, trans and through a PNP 9 in the back.
Update pics from tonight. About 2 hours of work Fuel system is plumbed ( until body goes back on ), + battery cable is installed, tail lights are mapped out. Tomorrow night is brake lines EDIT: only reason I ran the bling fuel system is because JEGS and summit have a SWEET package deal for pump, lines, fittings, filter, and regulator for under 250.00. Plus it's SAFE
Tonights accomplishments...... Seat brackets Seats Seat Belts New firewall Clutch and master brake lines Line lock Brake lines prop valve ground cable hamb tag and a flesh wound New goal is 7-4-08
I have followed all your stages on this project and say to you well done. I like your style. I would like to be brave enough to as suggest that with your ****** cross member is what I would call it, you made it a bolt in component which is sweet, but then you ran all your pipes and wires thru the holes you put in it. To me it would then not be an unbolt removable item as it appears you intended it to be. Or am I wrong or did it just work out that way or do you have plans to modify it. Got to say I was finding it difficult to raise this issue with you since you have done some much so well and as smooth as silk. Congratulations, Russ.
Your exactly right. The brake line has a connector there, but I need to add something for the fuel and battery cable. Since the body almost lays on the frame , I was forced to go through the crossmember ( something I didn't want to do ). Thanks for the compliments
No pressure but 30 days till M***. Looks like your cranking it out pretty fast. Making some good progress. Just don't get in too big a hurry and have any more boo boo's.
WORD!!!! I'm gonna try to make the M*** this year, had 2 level fusion in my low back May 19th, don't know if my surgeon will give me permission to ride in a car that far, but I'll prob. do it anyways That Sedan is BAD-***SSSSSS Bro!!!!!!!!
Wow. this whole thread still just amazes me. Great updates, great work and drive. Makes me want to build something....
