If it had a stock grill, turn signals, etc, I definitely can tell the difference - but this one is missing all that. I think it has remnants of 54 side trim (I think) - I should have checked at the show. Thank you Rocky.

  4. Love your work Dan. Recent discussion on this kind of art in this country even threw up the word 'vandalism'.:eek: How could anyone be so wrong!
Keep it up, it's a breath of fresh air in a 'same 'ol, same 'ol world. :D

  6. Who did the late evening in the desert wrecking yard pic's a while back? Was that you Dan? I copied a few for personal use as desktop pix, I hope that was ok.

  7. Not only are your skills with image manipulation over the top, you perspective on camera angles is fantastic. Do you have "art" for sale?

Thanks Amaverick, Rocky and firengine103. In response to all of the above. I do sell these and a lot of other car images - including a bunch shot in junkyards. I just did my first in a series of books which I am calling the car art series. This first book features cars in junkyards, abandoned in other places, swap meets, etc. shot in an artistic way. You can view it at http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/2938194 and press the blue "Preview Book" link to see what's inside. The second in this series which features some of my favorite customs will be out shortly. There will be a bunch more coming after that. The images you are referring to,Amaverick , that were shot in the evening were not mine, but I am familiar with them and they are great.

In general I don't mind my pictures being used for avatars, desktop wallpaper and so forth as long as they are not used commercially or printed. I do sell prints on different kinds of paper as well as actual metal. I do license images for commercial use and I do actually do real photo shoots for compensation outside of car shows. Any interest in any of that- please PM me and we can go from there.

As far as the vandalism thing goes, I am sure there are people everywhere that have to go out of their way to criticize things they don't personally like or enjoy. Many of them like to go way out of their way to let you know it too. As I noted here earlier, there are at least 3 guys that absolutely hate my work and make it a point to stop by the thread to add their 1 star rating to it. Not that I care, since there are so many great guys like you all out there who do like this kind of thing and I do it for you (and me) and cuz its fun.

    Anyway - more coming tomorrow.

I just found this thread. Dan's been a busy boy. Nice job Dan. I like your look on the flat color cars a lot. I know it's tough to get a good picture at a show without bored car owners sitting glumly in the background, bad light reflections, ropes in the foreground and those obnoxious vendor signs cluttering the background. Oh well, 3 out of four ain't bad.

  12. O.K., You guy's need to look at Dan's site. If you think what you have already seen is great, take a look at his book. It truly shows, even in their worse state of disrepair, the American auto is still a thing of beauty.

Thanks everyone! Your support and visits are ALWAYS very much appreciated. Bo is very on target about the challenge of getting any decent pictures at a car show, particularly with those shiny paint jobs in places that have so much background and foreground noise. Needless to say, I could do much better with the same cars outside a car show where there is some semblance of lighting controls and background. But I work with what I find and sometimes can make something decent out of it.

Here is one more shiny one. Not totally OT, but it was at the show.

This one is certainly more than a little wacked, but it was fun using a texture, and some old looking effects on it.

Thanks Rocky - I wish I had a chance to photograph it properly - it was one of my favorite cars there.
