A step backwards...

  1. In time. Remember the 55? The RatRodDeathTruck? Well naturally 2 days after I brought it home...

  2. I found another one. So I promptly put the 55 on Ebay (and quintipled my $$!) and bought this. It runs and drives great and it is the same truck that was posted in the HAMB classifieds by Jim. This truck runs great and I could not be more pleased. The guy I bought it from (Jim2) is really cool and he'd be a great HAMBer but he's not into the computer thing. This is my first 40's anything. The hardest thing for me now is getting used to the double-clutch. Anyway... Thanks Jim2!

  4. Lastly and most importantly, I am selling/getting rid of EVERYTHING not directly related to the 59 and the 40. There's a few people here on the HAMB I need to take care of with a few parts, so don't worry you will get yours. Everything else is going to be on Ebay or sold at the swap meets. The reason I am doing this is because I have too much***** and we are starting to re-do our home. New windows, new siding, new roof, and new landscaping so I am not going to have time for car***** in a month or so. So I'm getting a fresh start. Eventually I am going to run out of 59/60 stuff and then all I will have left is knowledge and memories. Time for me to move on to older stuff and get away from the fins.

    That's really funny!
I've had the 40 GMC since '88 and now I just moved INTO the fin stuff with the '60 Elky... [IMG]

    Is that a '39 or a '40?
40 will have 40 Chevy parking lights or holes for them in the front fenders and a curved dash. '39 had the parking lights in the non-sealed-beam-yet headlights and a flat dash.

When you have a long driveway you need long jumper cables. One in the back is always one needs a jump start. [IMG] Nice score, I love old trucks.

  7. DrJ-

Yeah it's a 40 Chevrolet. I have the parking lights etc for it... just have to clean them up and put them on and all that stuff....

And as for the car on the end... ha... it needs a hell of a lot more than a long pair of jumper cables!! [IMG]

So will you be getting rid of any cars, like maybe a 59 or 60 elky? What all do you have that needs to be hauled away?

  9. Jesse-

The last car I am going to be selling is the 60 El Camino. I am building that up with the intention of having it really nice and presentable (white, black-n-white tuck-n-roll interior), the american racing rims off my Impala, and this 283 with a 4-speed behind it. I set it up so I can run a generator with headers. I'm hoping to get $8000 for it when it's done. It goes towards re-doing the house...

Right....selling it all. I've heard it before!!

Nice truck. That made me go out and get one. Its a 39'. We needed a shop truck. I dont think its going to have as much sheetmetal as yours though.

    Glad you got it.
