not sure if i am asking this correct but if a tire is out of round but will still balance acceptable what it still give a smooth ride?_
NO, You will feel the effects of it being out of round. What's the whole story on the problem you are having and what have you done so far to correct it?
Picture an egg working like a wheel How's that going to be a smooth ride. But it depends on how far out or round and what type of tire. Might be acceptable to you
the tires on my wagon seem to be giving me a vibration. it was suggested by the shop i got them from said i need to have them balanced on a h nter roadforce machine. first shop said the tires are o t of ro nd and balancing wont stop the vibration. took them for another opinion and while they balanced ok they did say there is a noticeable non ro nd condition to all 4 tires. so i am wondering whether they need to be replaced by the road hazard warranty. i'm not looking for free tires and i know they are prorated however i need to get rid of the vibration
If it isn't all that far out, try breaking it down and turning the tire 180 degrees on the rim and airing it back up and see if if you gain anything. Sometimes you can get them back acceptable as he rim might also be slightly off. If they can't be gotten to there the out of round situation isn't going to shake the car they need to be swapped out though. 59 Brook, the Road Force is still an off the car machine that is said to do better than a regular machine with the right operator but it won't show things like out of balance hubs/drums or out of balance hubcaps as strange as the hubcap thing seems.
the readout on the roadforce said the rims are ok but even breaking down the tires won't help i'll let everyone know what the shop i got them from has to say soon as i hear back from them
I have the same problem with my American Cl***ics. I discovered, in my case anyway, that the whitewall overlaps onto the bead area which meets the wheel rim. This caused imperfections whch made the tire "wobble", even though it was balanced. I tried to grind down the defect on one of the tires, but stopped in fear of ruining the tire. Remedy? Well, I just ordered new tires.
