Agreed! . . . Here's Tony Lafon's mild custom '57 Sedan Delivery parked at my neighbors house:

Great film, the sedan delivery caught my eye right away. Upscale area, a 1947 car would only be 10 years old but almost every vehicle seen is current for the era. How about those tail fins on the taxi? Good stuff!

    Hello,

Nice capture of a colorful 57 Chevy sedan delivery. Our own history has San Francisco built in place. Our dad took us there many times on our early coastal, family road trips. Later, we got used to the steep hills and narrow-ish streets and even the downhill winding, Lombard Street, after many trips downhill. During our college days, S.F. was a destination place. Later on, my wife and I made many coastal road trips to see car shows, rock concerts, photo shoots and just a nice driving vacation to the great spots along the Northern coastline areas.

When I first saw the original film, I instantly thought of the similar color sedan delivery I have been seeing in the HAMB cl***ifieds. When it first came out for sale, it was an exceptional build and very cool hot rod. Similar color, same photo angle, even with different models and definitely a 67 year difference, to my old tired eyes, it (they) looked good.

When the HAMB ad came out, it was eye catching. I/we owned two 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery hot rods in different time periods and modifications. As we got older, the main reason we sold the 327 powered sedan delivery was the constant blind spot on the right rear quarter panel. At first sight and in my high school Flathead sedan delivery, that blind spot was there, but I was so happy I had a car to take me on our adventures that I overlooked that deficiency. Plus, there was the privacy in the back cave.

Always good for a nice, after surf session nap or two...

But, as happy as my wife was when she drove the 327 powered sedan delivery, that blind spot kept gnawing on her overall vision of surroundings, including traffic and pedestrians. I still shrugged it off until several late night road photo road trips. It must have been the power photoshoots or I was tired. The road trip home gave me different night visions of the traffic and now, that dark black blind spot was right in the middle of the rear and overall surrounding feeling. Now, almost every block I kept looking out of the right side rear view mirror and it was stock, but very tiny.

So, as long as my wife was now, not driving the 327 powered sedan delivery and had a small sporty car with almost a full greenhouse vision all around, it was time to sell it and move on in our adventures.

We have since liked different models of sedan deliveries and the red/orange 56 sedan delivery had one item from the build that stood out quite well. A factory installed right side rear quarter panel window set up. On one side it looked like a station wagon. On the driver’s side, a nice panel sedan delivery. We can’t see over our left shoulder, unless on a swivel, so that panel never bothered us in our own sedan delivery.

We almost plunked down the cash for the sale, but my wife noticed that there was no A/C. And, we are “over” using the lower vents and open windows while cruising around So Cal coastal areas… YRMV
