Has anyone used the spacing for the front motor mounts noted in the Bishop / Tardel book to put a 59A block in a A V-8 (forward edge of mounts 3" back from center of radiator support holes)? What fan works with that tight spacing? My 46 Ford set-up puts the fan where the radiator should mount.

  2. I have a 59A in A rails and fit a 39 genertaor/fan set up. I trimmed the blades of the fan about 3/4 each. Rad/firewall are still in their original location. Their is often discussion here regarding those same published measurments...[IMG]

    Hi,
i just went through it and if you are using a generator mounted fan(as Jason)
the books instructions are just fine.
If you have a 8BA fan move the mounts back 3 inches(and cut the firewall)

I wouldn't use a 40-48(?) crank mounted fan.Too low and too much trouble.
