Technical A V8 Question, anyone running a 8BA with stock intake and Stromberg 97?

A-V8 Question? Anyone running a 8BA with stock intake and Stromberg 97?


I'm building an A-V8 with a 8-BA engine. After setting the block in the frame with about 3degree fall to rear at ride height, things looked good, but after setting intake and carb on the block, the carb and float was off level. Because the 8BA sets with more rear fall in a 49-53 frame the intake is wedge cut. To solve this problem I've thought about machining the intake or making a wedge spacer to correct the problem. Anyone out there ever have this problem and worked it out?

I've learved a lot from the H.A.M.B. and hope to pass some of this info on to others. Thanks

 

There should be enough meat to knock it down level on a mill. Pics of your set up will help.
