Ok, I've actually had a few guys PM me asking whats going on with my roadster, so I guess it's time for an update. I have not gotten as much done as I had hoped for over the past month. With the weather being super nice that means a head start on outside chores and the new job I have is keeping me busy. I was hoping the frame would be completely done by now...but thats the way it goes isn't it :D

I have the frame and suspension painted and mostly back together. I don;t know how or why, but my torque tube/driveshaft is not quite right...so I have to put the thing back together a little to figure out what the problem is. It looked right when mocked up...but now I dunno. The engine is still needing to be looked at. It is new, but has a busted piston. I could not find a single that weighed in the ballpark, so ended up finding a NOS set of Ford pistons. Gotta swap those out, throw my Winfield cam in it and re-gasket everything. Then I hope to be in business! I feel so behind, but last year whan I started this car (as the 4 banger) I was digging the frame out of a snowbank a week ago last Saturday...so maybe I'm not as behind as I thought...but with 60 plus degree weather this week I wish I had this sun-bitch going!!!

Don't feel bad Chris! I've been working on the mockup for mine for over nine years now and you're further along than I am! I'm just about there though, just three things left (fit the running boards and three fenders, fit the hood, and build the front nerf bar. I think you'll find that she'll go together pretty quick! Like "Bib Overalls" said, "keep the pics coming"! Regards, Dave.

Don't let the driveline problem get to you. If everything went together smoothly it wouldn't be hot rodding.:)

  6. Lookin' good!

Chris, only you could post an update of an A-V8 roadster with a magic trick in the back ground. You must share your secret of how to turn a Phaeton into a Roadster.

Nice going Chris, it's looking great. I'm in the same boat as Dave but put quite a bit of time into mine this last month with some time off from work, should be a rolling chassis this week.

Looking good. I hope to be tore down, replace frame horns and frame painted by end of summer so you are really moving along.

Regarding your frame, did you blast it and hit it with some chassis black or something a little more fancy?

keep the updates coming I am living my build vicariously thru you.

    Flat black....I knew it.

Looking really good. Everything is very clean and painted nicely. Can't wait to see the body back on. Then I want video of that flatty started. I'll expect those by the end of the week.

I know, that V-tech and 5 speed is gonna rock! I hope all the wiring and plastic air boxes will fit under the hood! I'm gonna mold the Honda gauge's into the dash, too. Just like Henery built it...if he were Japanese!
