Y'all notice that in addition to custom taillights it's got a pinstriped dash?

Take that as VERY SOLID advice. What started out as a 3-week floor replacement in Clarence turned into a 5-year total makeover that (in some folks' opinion) stole its very soul.

b-t-w; think that thing can make it to Camargo in September???

  7. What a great reward for sticking it out so long in the tight*** corporate world! Kinda flirts with the philosophical/religious concept of grace. Deserved or undeserved, you've landed in high clover.
If you ever get bored and want to change up something, swap out that sbc for a Red Ram or Fire Dome hemi. Same family, less salt peter.

    Yep, I fully agree,
BOW TIE SHOULD BE WITH A BOW TIE
FOMOCO SHOULD BE WITH A FOMOCO
MOPAR SHOULD BE WITH A MOPAR

That being said, everyone's results may vary greatly !

Jeez, first I gotta help fix the body for a lunch, now I gotta supply a hemi and install it? :D

...and that's why I don't tell other people how I want their car built!

Absolutely *****in! I don’t remember ever seeing one of those, but then I’m not well versed in early Mopars. It has great lines and stance as it is and the grille and trim are very cool. Like you’ve said, just clean it up and get it running and reliable, maybe dress up the interior a little. Too bad they didn’t put a 360 LA and a TorqueFlight in it but it’s got a great looking hood to hide that Chevy.
The first picture from the side looks great, perfect stance, the tires fill the fenders nicely and it looks good with black wheels. I love the shape and detail of the wheel openings.
I’d ditch the Caddy taillights for some ‘56 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer taillights, if you can find them, and send the fender skirts to Anthony…..lol.
Congratulations on your retirement, you’ve picked a great retirement project!

    Thanks man.
The tail lights are on the list to change from pointing out so far to a more even body fender/ trunk flow.
I'll look at the Lancers along with a bunch of others as well.
    Thanks

I'm sure you'll find something that suits you, but I think '41 Studebaker taillights would be perfect.

    Thanks man.
Going to leave it automatic as my hip is worn out.
    Patina is *****in'.
I'm changing lenses to a better fender / truck flow.
Interior, Eh'.... need to get window mechanisms working first.
    Then door / window handles.
    I'll go with rubber flooring.
    Door panels I'll make.
Won't have a headliner - that I can ***ure you.

I realize this is totally unsolisited but here goes, since you are contemplating replacing the caddy tail lights let me suggest some cool lights that will probably slip into the holes left by the lights you remove, just a thought.

    These are '37 Ford.HRP

    Thanks Danny.
I'm trying to just do a simple shorter lense change is the goal.
3" diameter, using the existing mount.

Is the original Dodge socket there under the Cadillac lens. If so I have an original lens.

Love your new project. That dash you found in the trunk is from a ‘60/61 Valiant. My first car was a ‘61. I am going to be watching this build.
