I'm 55, self employed single dad. I work on old stuff out of my home. I have a tortured ex-Cal rod 32 Ford that I'm building a hiboy cabriolet out of. I saw a rear pic of a fendered 32 cabriolet from N.J. in a rod mag back in the early 70's, taken at the first Nats in Peoria. That pic stuck in my head all these years. I'm collecting pieces for an early olds motor and want to run a hydro. I've had tons of decent cars with a blue collar salary over the years by buying & selling; but I only built one true frame up rod back in 79.

We got to see tons of rods on the open highway a week ago for the Road Agents Rumble. That pretty much lit the flame for me. They look so slick out on the roads....why would anybody not want one. Got to follow a 32 hiboy roadster and an A-bone roadster on the way out, too. I hope my 15 yr old will carry on. He's the "J" in my tag.
