Hey Beep: Really cool stuff . . . hope to hear it with the can tipped. I really like to see these early style cars with a wide variety of engines -- just like it was in the day. The early Chrysler Hemi did not own the field until well into the 60's . . . before that, there was a wide variety of engines that contended every weekend. I'm building a blown 392 with a Donovan 417 top end and a 6-71. What a royal pain reworking those old chunks of cast aluminum to be usable once again. Getting things like rockers made was a 2 year adventure alone. How long have you been working to recreate your coupe? Are you running an old Olds rear? What for a tranny? Looking forward to meeting you one day . . .
Killer rail job. I want to put a nostalgia race together up in South Dakota. There is a track here in Sioux Falls that has been around since the early seventies with teh same owner... I want gassers, alky bearing dragsters, open windowed funny cars, and hotrods galour. this car fits in perfect. Looking real good.
Yo Baby: I am thinking about taking it to the Round up in Austin, but am having a tough time getting the two spaces needed to do that. They want no tow vehicles or trailers inside. I can understand that, but this bitch will take a little more space. So far no luck though. 39 Deluxe: Yes there is at least one AA Fuel Comp Coupe in the Garlits museum now, maybe two. But both are Chrysler powered. This one ha a MEL in it. Garlits is excited to receive the car so far. Vonpahrkur: Yeah, I have this really nice 1959 Ranchero that I bought from a really cool guy in Bakersfield. You may even know him,,,LOL. Bored&Stroked: I have already started her up on Alky to test for leaks, mechanical issues, etc. Even after 45 years in dark, damp, cold, isolated and lonely hibernation, she spun over about five times and belched fire and shit right our of the pipes. Damn she sounded good. She roared and held her head up and hoillered,,,bring on the hemi's. The plan is to fire her up this weekend on 50% or 75% to take some live action shots of her. My daughter will come down from Dallas to do the driving. This will be a three generation deal.
